Share Mommy

Okay so the weather is so HOTTT here and the flower beds just might not make it. Oh well!
Anyways, I've been trying to teach Lily and Ella to "share" me. The trouble with having two kids is that they both want you-at the same time-and it's not always easy. Usually, they will both cry for me at the same time. Ella, being that she is older understands when I say it's time to share mommy but Lily struggles!!!! However, today they both wanted me to pick them up and Lily said "Share Mommy"! One small step........ We're off to the pool

Atlanta Zoo

Today Brandon and I took the kids to the Atlanta Zoo and it was so much fun. The kids loved seeing the giraffees, lions, pandas, and even some flamingos. And we saw the elephants and boy do they stink!! We even got to ride on the train. This is a great place to go whether you have kids or not. The rest of the week we're going to attempt to add a couple of flower beds around our house and do some very needed home repair!

Cookout with friends

Tonight we had a cookout with some friends from church. Justin and Kara White and Bryant and Tabitha Williams. We had them come over to our house for ribs and all the fixins. It was such a good time to get together and the girls enjoy playing with Bryant and Tabitha's little boy-Cody. Brandon and I just recently changed churches because of some unfortunate things that occured where we had been going to church for the last six years and it has been such a wonderful experience for us to be around these people. They have been so welcoming to us and extended their friendship. I am so thankful for these people and that God has put them in our lives.

More pictures from Lily's party

I had to get a pic of my sweet daddy for those of you that know him

Happy Birthday Lily- Take 2

This past Saturday, we actually celebrated Lily's birthday with my parents at their house. My mom had a little treasure hunt for her with different presents. She was really excited with the big pool and her new kitchen. Brandon and I can't believe that she is actually 2. The past couple of years have just flown.

Happy Birthday Lily- Take 1!

Today we went to Brandon's parents for an early 2nd birthday party for Lily who will be 2 on the 26th. We'll do another party(just family-we went all out last year and I don't think my nerves or budget can take it) on Saturday with my family. No matter how i tried to get her to look at the camera, she wouldn't. She just wasn't in the mood. Oh well!! Her Dora cake was really good though.

Wheelin' Around

There's nothing my kids like more than to go riding on their tricycles at my mom and dad's . They had to get Lily one also because she has to match Ella on everything. I don't know if it's a girl thing or sibling thing but whatever one has the other one has to have one also. They take turns riding down the hill as fast as their little legs can carry them.

Jesus Loves Me and So does......

Barbie! At least that's what Ella told me. She said the sweetest thing this morning. "Mommy, Jesus loves me and watches over me at night" to which I said, "Yes, Jesus does love you and watch over you". Then she said and "so does Barbie and she watches over me too. Of course she does," I said. What else was I going to say.......Out of the mouths of babes right?

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!
(Sorry this turned sideways)

The Pool !The Pool!

Is it pool time already you're probably saying? Well, for this house, it is. Especially with 80 plus degree weather. I got the girls a little pool to put out on our deck(we'll go big this summer) and we put just enough water in it to have fun. As you notice in the pic, we haven't exactly got our swimsuits yet but we'll probably be making a trip to Target in the near future to get some. Here's to looking forward to summertime!
And yet again, we've already been to the aquarium this week to see the penguins again. Christy, i told you we went A LOT! This time we went with my sweet friend Amanda and the girls had a good time. We even ran into Mrs. Gregg, an old teacher of mine and her daughter Kimbra who has 2 little girls. So it was good to see them.
We off to our next adventure!

What's Important

I was sitting last night at church listening to the Boyd-Buchanan high school chorus sing and marveling at the beautiful sound I was hearing. Lily and Ella both wanted to sit on my lap and I was getting frustrated because they wouldn't sit still and be quiet. Everytime they stopped singing Lily was say in a VERY loud voice "SING!! SING!" and i was thinking that everyone around me probably was thinking why i didn't take my children out. A mother was sitting next to me who had a senior in the chorus. (This was the seniors last chorus performance and was pretty emotional for them). The mother said "Aren't they such a blessing?" It took me a moment to realize what she was referring to and then it hit me-my children. Here I was worrying and getting upset over nothing and she was looking at the bigger picture-that children are a blessing from God. I saw in the tears in her eyes and it reminded me what's really important in life:)

We are Family

You know that song "We are Family". Well, last night I went out to eat with friends from grad school at Panera. We had such a good time especially since the semester is over. What i love about this group of individuals is the unique backgrounds of everyone. Jamaica, Haiti, Maryland, Ohio, Florida, Maine, and me from little ol' Georgia. To have this kind of experience going back to school to get this degree with such a great group of people with such diverse backgrounds and of different ages is fantastic. Even better is the fact that i consider them family. I love you guys!!
Oh, and I added some pics of the girls and Ella painting at Playgym

The Penguins are Coming-They're here!!!!!

All we've been hearing about the last few months are that the penguins are coming to the aquarium and the girls have been so excited about seeing them. Today Ella had Playgym at the Creative Discovery Museum for the first time and she loved it though i think that Lily liked it more. Anyways, after we left we went to the aquarium. We go to the TN aquarium probably once a month and if you've never been it's quite an experience. I highly advise it for anyone. They have about 16 penguins in all and the water temp is like 46 degrees b/c they like the cold! It's really neat and Ella and Lily enjoyed seeing them and then we had to go see the shark. Those sharks look really big up close and I'm glad that they're behind that THICK glass!

Little Angel

See I do have one sweet child. I'm just kidding both are sweet but i caught Ella asleep on the floor after a very busy day of play. There's nothing sweet than seeing that little bottom up in the air whether it's when they are a baby or 3 going on 4.

Wahahaha

Do you see this face? All look at me aren't I sweet? I don't know how well you can see the first two pictures but that is Ella's arm and on it are a full set of Lily's teeth. The second pic is a full set of scratch marks on Ella's leg from Lily. I know many of you are probably thinking "Doesn't she ever watch her kids?" but Lily is so fast that i can be inches away from her and can't stop her. She's a little aggressive to say the least but after having to always fight for a toy since she was a baby b/c Ella always took one away from her, she a little quick to get upset. However, they are good at sharing at times...sometimes, every now and then?? So, I like to think she's thinking Wahahhahah......I'll show you....take my toys Sissy and see what happens! Let's just hope that DEFACS doesn't see my kids.

A Little Dirt Won't Hurtcha!

Right. I'm talking a lot of grimy, stuck to your face dusty gravel rock dirty! We went to the ballfields last night because Brandon had a softball game with our church league and Ella and Lily were delighted to see the little gravel rocks on the ground. Which they preceded to pick up and drop over and over and over again. Needless to say after 2 hours of doing this that dirt was like white on rice on them. Lily even fell down and so she had tear tracks in the dirt on her face. Ella, my primadonna don't let any dirt get on me, was right down there with her. Side note, don't let your children wear white shirts to the ballfields. They had the best time. Who needs toys anyways? So, for all those rough and tough boys out they, my girls can keep up with the best of them!
